Even if this rule was implemented and was overlooked by someone, it would be impossible to 100% prevent any favouritism since that relationship already exists since the feelings are already there. Its not just the relationships that cause favouritism but the friendships too. In my eyes this rule is pointless since it wont prevent any favouritism. Staff members just have to be as mature as possible when making important decisions and if they cant be then they don't deserve that position. /nosupport

I don’t think that the current relationships should be annulled, but as someone said earlier, a manager/higher up should not be allowed to hire their bf/gf into the team. That makes a lot of sense to me, and could help prevent favoritism in the future.

Although I see where you are coming from, I still believe that it doesn't matter who someone loves, that shouldn't stand in the way of them being a staff member if they really want to.
Another reason that I do not support this idea is because what about the people who are already together and are staff members? We can't force them to leave whoever they are dating! That would be just plain cruel, and if they have been a good staff member, why make them stop being one over them simply being with the person they love?
I understand what everyone who supports this rule is saying, but I personally do not support it.

Sorry if this is considered double posting, I'm not that aware of forum rules. Anyways, I'd like to reply to this.

I understand your good intentions, but honestly to me your statement seems quite naive. Have you noticed how former/current staff members have been agreeing with this idea? There's a clear reason why, but I won't get into it. Anyways, love can be sweet sure- but it's a distraction to your job as a staff member. You can love whomever you want, but keep your love life away from your job. Unfortunately, some staff members couldn't do that. Of course, this is only my humble opinion!

It's been said that this would only be a step towards removing it. Staff generally follow rules fairly well, so if this were a rule I don't doubt it would be followed. Sure, there would be hissy fits from those who like to online date, but is it worth it? Absolutely. I can get many people to vouch for me and provide statements saying they have either witnessed this problem or been a part of the problem. In fact, I've received many dms on discord from people saying they agree with me. This includes staff members (current and past) who are saying they've witnessed it. Sure, it won't stop anything, but it will help.

We can't prevent all things, of course. As Glow stated, this is a really important and perhaps helpful step towards end to favoritism!

True love doesn’t exist online.
Yes, I get that, but what about the few people who actually know each other in real life? They aren't online dating, they are just dating.

I completely understand what you all are saying, and, to be completely honest with you, it has started to turn my opinion around. Thank you for helping me understand a little better as to why this would be a good rule! 😘

I think it be great for the idea, it helps everyone feel like they are treated fairly and not just the “meh” people to managers and stuff, I noticed this stuff a lot
happening and sometimes it can get annoying /bigsupport

I completely revived this but it's a good idea.
Being someone who was in a relationship with another staff member while on the team, my personal experience is that it does invoke favouritism, we barely ever interacted with other members of staff and were very self involved with ourselves. While this may have only been an 'us' issue, I've seen the staff community grow more toxic and orientated around friendships/relationships regarding hires. I believe that other players, see staff members as idols in some cases, and seeing this happen may disorientate their view on what it takes to become staff. I moreso agree with what Bellamy has said, regarding managers rather than staff members being banned, but I still support the idea as a whole.
