Little Mouse
* . Prologue. *

In the depths of a fierce volcano, there was a lion. This was a very strange lion, indeed. Her pelt was midnight black and her underfur and paws was purple. The lioness's eyes shined grey and the tip of her tail was aflame. The lioness was pacing back and forth inside a cave. The cave overlooked a lake lava, and high above the lava there was a large opening the ceiling. The lioness looked down at the lava, still pacing back and forth. She was mumbling something about "the curse" and "ice dragons". A roar sounded from the opening in the ceiling. A giant blue dragon spiraled down from the ceiling opening, it's wing flapping up and down and a very serious expression. The dragon landed in front of the lioness who was no dazed by the appearance of the dragon. "Have you made your decision yet, Queen Verona?' the dragon said in a raspy tone. The dragon was three time larger than the lioness but she still replied in a slick voice. "My mind is made up, Whiskit" Verona said. "Ready the sorceresses and warriors and tell them to meet me at Snowfall Peak. Soon, this land will be ours!". Her voice echoed against the cave walls. Whiskit chuckled and said "You are indeed correct, Your Highness. Shall I fetch King Marrin?". The lioness stared at the lava again as bubbles of lava popped and formed. Her eyes narrowed as she looked back at the blue dragon. "No. He will only slow us down." Verona hissed. Whiskit nodded and took off as he spiraled towards the ceiling opening just like he did when he came in. Verona sighed and lifted up an amulet necklace that was tied around her neck. "I'll free you soon, brother." She whispered. "Very, very soon..."

Little Mouse
It was a beautiful morning. Sunshine slipped into a cave half submerged into a mountain. The cave was fairly small. Bones dotted the floor, a neat pile of books were placed in a corner. Paw prints were emboldened onto the wall next to was hole in the cave that acted as a window. "Just two more minutes, Frostia..." groaned a young navy blue lion. His underfur, paws, and mane were white. Other wise, he was completely navy blue. He was huddled in a bundle of leaves and feathers. Frostia was a light blue lioness with a white underfur and paws. She sulked over to Jacker, the navy blue lion. "Jacker" Frostia snapped. "We have to go hunting and you know that. So get up, we don't have all day". The tone of Frostia's voice told Jacker she was annoyed, but he didn't care. "Nah, I'll stay in bed" Jacker grunted. Frostia, being short-tempered and easily provoked, didn't take this as an answer. She bit Jacker's short mane and dragged him by it. He jolted up and try to break free of Frostia's grip, but once she grabbed him, she certainly wasn't going to let go. Jacker yelped and hissed, but of course, the annoyed lioness didn't let go. "Ok, Ok!" Jacker snapped. "I'll get up! Holy Certius, Frostia! What are you tryin' do, rip my mane off?!". Frostia let go of he's man and spit out white fur. "Well, it was kind of what I was planning to do if you didn't get up" Frostia chuckled. "But whatever! Let's get going!".

Range Mountains is the home of many lions. The dens were like apartments, linked by wooden catwalks. In the center of the of the mountains, there was a large stony clearing with only few trees. It was lit by torches at night. The clearing had a pond in it, which flowed in between the two small mountains that protected the front of Range Mountans. The stream from the pond flowed into Tree Bark Creak. that It was usually occupied by chatting lions and playful cubs, but today is was peaceful; only a few lions laid under the shade of the trees. Clouds gathered in the distance, foretelling rain. Frostia and Jacker trotted down the wooden catwalks that creaked under their paws. They two lions were auguring about where they should go hunting in the Tabatha Forest. 'But the North side has richer prey!" Frostia pointed out. Her face was annoyed; she was losing the argument. "Yea, but the South side has denser tress!" Jacker said. "Perfect for when your trying to camouflage to sneak up on prey!" The two kept raging on about which side they should hunt on. They got to the dirt road and finally decided they would just hunt in the South side. The dirt road lead into an abandoned Dweller (humans) town. It was occupied by lions than used the deserted town as a storefront road. Its name was Creek Road. They were mostly stores but there was a inn for travelers from other lion colonies, a daycare, and a library (most lions didn't return their books). The other side of Creek Road, the direction all the buildings faced, there was Tree Bark Lake, a lake that was long as at least a mile. Across the lake, there was Grand Dragon Cave, a giant skull of a dragon that was big enough to fit up to 200 lions and housed the Royals. But we'll get to that later. Right now, Frostia and Jacker were entering a store with a sign on the window that read "Jepp's Grocery". They walked inside to a slightly rundown store. There were no windows, so the room was lighted with torches. On the left and right walls, there were shelves stocked with things to scarves to wired plants that glowed. Behind the counter in front of the door, there was a green lioness with spike wristband and collar. Hanging of the collar was a skull-shaped tag that read "SCUB". The green lion was wearing a black camouflage coat and was reading a book without a title. Jacker looked like this was completely normal, and Frostia looked like she seen a ghost. Jacker walked up to the counter, but Frostia stayed at the door, too terrified to move. She was staring at a Dweller's skull hanging off the wall like it was going to jump off and kill her.
